lighthouse.jpgMost staff development revolves around the idea of building skills in individual teachers who then try to apply these skills in isolation. Typically these workshops are one-time events with little or no follow-up support. TLCs involve teams of teachers working together to study, learn, and support one another as they make student learning, not teaching, the focus. This process is collaborative rather than isolated. Ongoing learning and support continue throughout the school year. This professional development occurs at the school site and focuses on the specific needs of our school. This is an exciting adventure that Wood Middle School is embarking on. Together we will reach Exemplary in 2011!!
